Today NAG operates its own data centers in Germany and Switzerland.
However, our company had already made history in 1984 by being taken as the first mailbox system in operation. After the mailboxes the first central computer network (videotext short BTX, and Teletext in Switzerland) was created and operated by the German Post. On this system a turn provider system was connected with an external computer, set to provide content to the consumer. BTX developed into Datex-J and then was gradually replaced by the Internet. BTX was finally shut down in 2007 in Germany and in 2000 in Switzerland. Even before the shutdown of BTX or Teletext one recognized the signs of the times and opened the then fledgling technology of the Internet. Thus in 1997 a company called Netdiscounter was founded. It was a cost-effective hosting provider on the market of the time which was able to charge low prices because it operated its own data center from the beginning. That meant that its data center services did not have to be purchased externally. The main customer segment are business customers. It continued to develop a supplier of custom hosting solutions that were implemented in its own data center. Today we run several data centers, have the main offices in Nuremberg and Zurich, and are represented in Paris, London, New York, Winterthur, Moscow, Hong Kong, Amsterdam, and Chisinau. Our main customers are now Internet providers. For corporate clients we provide services through our partners or subsidiaries. In 2015 Netdiscounter GmbH was floated on the stock market under the German law. Since 2016 we run under the single label of NAG DATACENTER both in Germany and Switzerland. Visit the local sites of NAG DATACENTER Germany or NAG DATACENTER Switzerland to get more information about our data center, services, and offers.
Existing customers and internet service providers continue to be operated directly by NAG DATACENTER while new customers can be purchase their chosen services through the subsidiaries or partners.
